Elevate Your Game
Are you tired of always missing the same shots, no matter how many YouTube videos you watch? Are you stuck as a “forever four”? Is there that one guy at league that you just can’t seem to beat? I can help!
Fix your fundamentals, develop your mental game, and start enjoying the sport the way it was meant to be played.
Why Work With Me?
I’m not just “some guy at the pool hall that shoots well and can give you a couple tips.” I have made the investment of my time and money to become a certified instructor by both the PBIA and ACS to make sure that I’m providing instruction that is proven and reliable. I’m obtaining my certification from Master Instructor Kim “The Dragon” Young, and will complete it in December of 2024.
“The Heart of a Teacher”
When I began working the PBIA & ACS Instructor Certification process, the first thing I had to do was write a “mission statement for your future professional billiards instructor self that embodies the reasons why you want to be an instructor and why you’ll be a good choice for your students.” This is what I wrote:
I have the heart of a teacher and the values, character, and work ethic of a warrior. My goal in becoming a certified billiard instructor is not just to improve the playing abilities of my students in this sport that I’ve played and loved for over forty years, but to show those that are open to it that sport in general can be an incredibly powerful metaphor for life. Setting and achieving goals, learning new skills, constant improvement, critical thinking and problem solving, social interaction and teamwork, and overcoming adversity are all critical life skills, not just while we’re at the table but in our daily lives as well. By combining the instruction of the mechanics of solid fundamentals with the principles of sports performance and psychology, my mission is to elevate my students’ ability to play not only the game of pool at a higher level, but also the game of life, all while exceeding the standards set by the certifying bodies.
